Ride Fun
If you're a bit wobbly on your bike, haven't hopped on the saddle for a while, or simply want a real leisurely ride this is the level for you. We take it nice and slow so there is no need to worry you may fall behind. This ride will be good practise in case you fancy a step up to the next ride level, or just want to enjoy yourself with our qualified Ride Leaders, who are on hand to give you cycle tips...should you want them.
To make Skyride Local fun for all the family pick a level to suit your skills & enjoyment
Ride Fun (Young Families aged 5+)
A chance for children who can ride without stabilisers, to experience the fun of a cycling event. Safety is key here, so expect fun traffic free routes, varying between 5 & 10KM, taking about an hour. With regular stops, you don't have to work too hard - and you can feed the ducks, or have a go on the swings along the way, with these routes taking in ducks ponds, children's parks and cafés.
Ride Fun (Teen Families aged 13+)
Similar to the 5+ rides, but stepping up the distance to 10-15KM. There's no need for anyone to feel uncomfortable, with teenagers developing at different rates we'll take extra care to make sure everyone can cycle at their own pace. Routes will vary but you may find yourself passing various points of interest from nature parks & woods to cycling facilities and water parks.
Ride Fun (Adults aged 16+)
Again with 10-15KM to cover, it's the chance to get out on your bike if it's been a long time. We'll set the speed to suit the majority, and you can see how much fun you can have cycling in a group....maybe next time you'll even want to give yourself a challenge and try the next level ride !
Ride Well
(aged 16+ or 13-16 with an adult)
Enjoying a 1-2 hour ride over a longer distance of 20-30KM, you'll need to have a moderate level of fitness - maybe skip the fry-up before the ride! Still all about having fun we'll make sure there are places of interest along the way & a stop for snacks in case you get peckish. Ride Leaders can give you top tips & help you gain confidence as you cycle a mixture of traffic free areas and roads.
Ride Strong
(aged 16+ or 13-16 with an adult)
This might be the ride for you if you're already confident on two wheels, and already know how much fun it can be to see the sights from the saddle. Covering distances from 25-40KM, on mainly quiet roads, you will need to have a reasonable level of fitness & ride fairly frequently.
If you enjoy cycling but aren't part of a club, then take advantage of our Ride Leaders knowledge, getting advice not only to make you a better rider but to also find out about cycling clubs & opportunities in your area.
